Urban Munchkin's beginnings can be traced to the birth of our two baby girls - Maya and Ava - who were born in 2008. There was a lack of conscious clothing that was both stylish as well as functional, so we decided to create a line of our own. Using soft, organic cotton fabrics, eco friendly dyes, colorful and modern designs enhanced with positive messages to inspire conscious living.

Urban Munchkin was born!

Our combined backgrounds - textile designer, yoga instructor , artist and businesswoman, have helped us develop a unique line of children's clothing ranging in sizes from newborn to toddler... clothing that is as different as it is distinctive... designed with your Munchkin in mind.

Urban Munchkin is also something else. It's a means to an end, a way of giving back! We feel strongly that any success we have should be shared with others not as fortunate. And so, we have committed to donate a portion from our collections to children centered charities that can be found in the "Charities" section of our website.

We use only certified organic cotton grown using sustainable farming practices that maintain and replenish soil fertility without the use of toxic and persistent pesticides and fertilizers. Our garments are made of ultra soft, organically produced cotton certified by Control Union Certifications (formerly SKAL), a USDA Accredited Certifying Agent.

Our garments are also certified “Fair Trade”. Every garment supports our vision and hope of an eco conscious and kinder earth. We believe strongly in adding positively to our world both environmentally and by ethical business practices. Our business helps support local India business while simultaneously adding positively to the global economy.

low impact dyes

Our fabrics are treated with low-impact dyes, and our prints and screens are made with inks free of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and we skip the dioxin + formaldehyde altogether.

recycle, reduce, reuse

Urban strives to use as much recycled product as possible including 100% recycled tags and packaging. Our goal is to minimize impact of the environment and strive to constantly find better more earth-friendly methods to deliver top quality products to you while simultaneously limiting our carbon footprint.
